FAQs for Trade-in customers

You can trade in your old phone for credit toward a new phone from our Store.

Your trade-in estimate will be valid for 30 days from the day your new device is delivered to you.
Customers can send trade-in device at any time, if it arrives more than 30 days after your new device was delivered it'll be assessed at current market value instead of your quoted estimate. Current market value is determined by the trade-in terms.

Follow these steps:

  1. Factory reset the device and remove activation locks.
  2. Ship the device within 30 days of receiving your new phone to ensure the initial trade-in quote does not expire.
  3. Answer the initial trade-in questions accurately. The initial quote will be based on the information provided, but the final value will be based on what is observed during inspection. Any differences may negatively or positively impact device value.
  4. Customers may still be able to trade-in devices that fail the below inspections, but they will be offered a lower refund that more accurately reflects the Trade-in Value.

Our checklist is simple; we ensure the answer is YES to the following questions:

  1. Does the device power ON?
  2. Does the Power Button function correctly?
  3. Are all Activation Locks disabled? (Find My iPhone, Google Lock, and Samsung Lock)
  4. Is the screen free of cracks, breaks and missing pieces?
  5. Does the touchscreen work on the entire surface of the phone?
  6. Is the screen free of any bruising and missing pixels?
  7. Is the LCD LED Backlight working correctly (the screen is not dark)?
  8. Is the device otherwise free of breaks or cracks in the housing, keypad, hinge, or battery door?
  9. Does the device have a healthy, non-swollen battery?
  10. Does this device pass our LCD inspection?
  11. Does this device pass our housing inspection?

Devices will fail LCD inspection if they have any of the following:

  1. Cracked Screen
  2. Damaged Screen
  3. Burn-in
  4. Bruising (may appear as dead pixels or spots of discoloration)
  5. Pixelation
  6. Delamination
  7. Unresponsive Screen

We will check the housing of trade-in device for the following:

  1. Major Case Crack
  2. Minor Case Crack
  3. Major Scratch
  4. Camera Broken
  5. Button/Key Broken
  6. Power Button Broken
  7. Battery Missing
  8. Battery Door Broken
  9. Case Bent

You might see reason why your trade-in value was affected. For more information about these reasons, see below:

  1. Phone doesn’t turn on or off: The phone doesn’t turn on, turn off, or there’s a problem with the charger.
  2. Damaged screen: The screen is cracked, damaged, bruised, missing pixels, or the LCD is dark or burnt out.
  3. Touch screen doesn’t work: The touch screen isn’t responsive.
  4. Phone isn’t factory reset: The phone’s activation lock is still on.
  5. Incorrectly reported phone model: The phone model we received is different from the one you picked.
  6. Phone shipped more than 30 days after new phone was delivered.
  7. Phone reported lost or stolen.
  8. Received package was empty or had miscellaneous item.
